INJECTABLES
BOTOX
The injection of Botox to get rid of wrinkles and lines in the forehead areas is a common practice nowadays, specially among personalities, TV presenters etc - you hardly see any lines or wrinkles. Most of them resort to botulism toxin which is a commonly used product by the many. The use of Botox and its effects is to temporarily paralyze the muscle. By keeping the muscles between the eyebrows from moving, frown lines will disappear for a period of time – usually for about 3 months. This product can also be applied to the areas just outside the eyes, also known as crow's feet.
DERMAL FILLERS
This is different from Botox which paralyzes the muscles that make wrinkles. Dermal Fillers will actually fill up wrinkles, frown lines between eyebrows, the folds between the nose and lips and cheeks and smile lines at the outside of the mouth.
COLLAGEN
It is a form of dermal filler which has been practiced for many years. Usually it does not require local anaesthetic unless injected into the lips. It usually lasts for 3 months. Before collagen injection is applied an allergy test is required.
PEELING AND RESURFACING OF THE SKIN
PEELING
For a smooth and younger looking skin. This procedure is applied mainly to younger patients for whom skin surfacing scarring and pigment is a problem. The skin correction is usually a result of skin damage from sun, smoking, acne etc…
The peeling process is the application of water-based chemical solution to the face. This solution works by killing a layer or more of tissue until it peels off completely.
RESURFACING
Resurfacing is a surgical procedure in which layers from the surface of skin are physically removed during surgery. There are two types of resurfacing either Laser treatment or Dermabrasion which grinds down, by mechanical means, the surface of skin.
Dermabrasion may be performed under local anesthesia, which numbs the area, combined with a sedative to make you drowsy. You'll be awake but relaxed, and will feel minimal discomfort. In some occasion a numbing spray, such a freon, is used along with or instead of local anesthesia. Or, in more severe cases, your surgeon may prefer to use general anesthesia, in which case you'll sleep through the procedure.
FACIAL TREATMENT COMBINATIONS
We have few combinations that can be of benefit to you. The advantage of these combinations is that you have a much longer result, you will save time and money and most important these are safe treatments.
Here we mention some of the options available:
Botox with Dermal Filler or Botox with Skin Peels. These two options are combinations that complement each other. The use of Botox with either Dermal Fillers or Skin Peels will help to prevent the muscles actions from breaking the fillers and keep reduced the skin lines on the face for a longer period.
Skin treatment with surgery is also a possible combination that would be discussed with our doctor for the available options. |
