Inevitably our face normally change as age increases. These changes are usually related to genetics, our daily activities, the environment and our general health. You will eventually notice the signs of aging as the skin sags, the cheeks start to fall, the chin droops and the skin under the neck stretches. Needless to say the lines and wrinkles that become noticeable along the years.
A face lift will bring a more youthful appearance out for you. This surgery aims at removing excess fat, tightening underlying muscles and redrape the skin of face and neck. The incision for a facelift will address the ageing issue by giving your face a new rejuvenated and healthier look to your lower face.
Patients can opt for neck treatment (nearly down to the collarbone), at the same time or a combination of full face, neck and eyelids.
As long as you have a strong and well defined bone structure and some elasticity in your skin this procedure is suitable for you.

Face lift incisions usually begin above the hairline at the temples, extend in a natural line in front of the ear (or just inside the cartilage at the front of the ear), and continue behind the earlobe to the lower scalp. If the neck needs work, a small incision may also be made under the chin.
This procedure is performed, most of the cases, with local anaesthesia, combined with a sedative to make you drowsy. This way you will be awake during the surgery but will feel relaxed with a minimal discomfort at times.
The duration of this surgery is about several hours
You should be able to return to work within 10 to 14 days. |
