You feel your breast looks sagging and tired and not convincingly attractive. Due to age, health or family inheritance you may find your breast cosmetically undesirable.
Droopy breast are the results of various situations such as:
- Breast feeding for a long period of time - Breast feeding goes through the stages of becoming enlarged just before childbirth to return to a smaller size again after the feeding period causing the breast to become saggier.
- Changes in weight - The process of gain or loss of weight is a strong indication that breast sagginess will develop. When you gain weight for instance, it causes the skin and tissues around the breast to stretch. When you loose weight you also loose elasticity in your tissues which prevents your breast from lifting back to normal again.
- Aging – As determined by nature, saggy breasts develop, in some cases, as early as the 20 years old, when the breast tissues and its ligaments start to stretch.
- Medical condition – There are instances that women start to develop saggy breast from birth.
For some women saggy shaped breast, as highlighted above, feel very uncomfortable and in some situation it feels embarrassing for young women in particular who find saggy breasts difficult to cope with.

The incision, for the breast lift procedure, outlines the area from which breast skin will be removed and defines the new location for the nipple. When the excess skin has been removed, the nipple and areola (dark area around the nipple) are moved to the higher position. The skin surrounding the areola is then brought down and together to reshape the breast. Stitches are usually located around the areola, in a vertical line extending downwards from the nipple area, and along the lower crease of the breast.
The surgeon may also require, depending on the patient's age and family history, a mammogram test before the surgery takes place.
This procedure is performed under general anaesthetic what means that you will sleep through the operation. In case when small incision is required, local anaesthesia, combined with a sedative can be used. This way you will be awake during the surgery and will feel minimal discomfort during the surgery.
The duration of this surgery is about one and a half to three and a half hours.
Although pending on your surgeon advice, you should be able to return to work within 10 days. |
